Ingredients
Looking into the full list of ingredients for Huxley Light And More Oil, its active ingredient is Sahara’s prickly pear seed oil, which is full of skin-benefiting antioxidants, vitamin E and linoleic acid. It also contains Sunflower Seed Oil, Squalene and Jojoba Oil that works to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and improve skin tone and texture. Overall the INCI list looks full of skin-loving ingredients except for fragrance, of course. But as I mentioned before, Huxley is not for you if you're not into fragrance in skincare.
Packaging
This oil comes in a clear glass bottle with a screw dropper cap. As I seem to always mention, Huxley's packaging is beautiful! It's neat and has a luxurious feel to it. The glass bottle feels a bit heavy, and you can see that it's thick, which makes you feel expensive using this. LOL... Even its trial size came in a mini-sized bottle which is so cute! I have no complaints about packaging as it functions really well and let out the right amount of oil for each need.
Texture
It's an oil, so of course, it's oily. (Sorry, but I came across a review stating that this oil is 'oily'... LOL... My brain just couldn't handle it.) It's supposed to be oily since it's an oil, so this is not for you for those who cannot handle oily texture. It's a light yellow oil that actually has a very light texture compared to a few facial oils I've tried before. It absorbs so well into the skin that it doesn't feel like oil has been applied to my face even after application. It does not feel too oily on the skin, so my skin doesn't shine either, so it's not sticky.
Scent-Wise
It has a strong floral scent which could be overwhelming. As I mentioned in my previous reviews for Huxley products, Huxley is not for you if you're bothered with fragrance. I, on the other hand, seems to be really addicted to its scent. It smells so good!
Experience
From my first try using Huxley's Oil until now, I can't seem to get enough. IT LASTED FOR MONTHS when I tried the mini bottle, and I've been using it daily. Even a small bottle goes a long way, so I bet the full-size one could last me a year probably. I bet you can already guess that I'm certainly in love with this facial oil.
As I mentioned, I've tried several types of facial oils before, but this one is a holy grail for me. I'm acne-prone, so facial oils are usually a red alert product for me, but I still use them anyway because the right facial oil could provide proper moisture to the skin, preventing acne from popping out. And Huxley's Light and More oil seem to be that facial oil for me as I don't seem to get any acne parade when using this.
Instead of direct application to the skin, I mix the oil with moisturizers, 2-3 drops is enough, but types of moisturizers do count. I avoid mixing it with gel-based moisturizers or lightweight ones because they change the texture I don't like. Instead, I use it with thick and creamy creams just like Huxley's Cream, and it creates the perfect blend of texture that glides and absorbs into the skin so easily. I've tried this oil with multiple creams with the same texture as Huxley's Cream, and it all works well with this oil.
So far, I've been using a new bottle for 3 weeks now, and my experience is still good. I did, of course, get a few zits, but only a spot or two. However, that's normal as I tend to get a few zits when I'm on my period or taking too much sugary food. That's why I'm impressed; I don't seem to get a full face breakout when using this oil.
I love the feel of this oil; adding it to my face does not make my skin feel so oily that it's uncomfortable. It feels super light and dry compared to the oils I've tried before, but not dry in a bad way. Dry to my meaning is that it does not create that sticky, oily feel, and somehow it manages to keep my skin super moist. I've always used this in my night routine because waking up in the morning makes my skin super moist and supple. It's like my face had a full spa facial during the night.
Overall Thoughts
Huxley Secret Of Sahara Oil: Light And More is definitely a holy grail for me. I haven't come across a facial oil yet that has not caused me a breakout instead of this one, and for those with acne-prone skin, it makes the list of options even shorter. I know the INCI list doesn't look all good for those with my skin type, but I'm amazed at how well it works despite that. For those with dry skin, I highly recommend this facial oil to give in-depth moisture to your skin. While for others, make sure to do a patch test first because oils are mostly full of comedogenic ingredients, so it's risky.
However, if you read more on facial oils, you'll come to know that facial oils are actually a magic potion to balance back hydration to your skin, which may result in healthier-looking skin.
