Ingredients
Looking into the full list of ingredients for Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel, its formulation is pretty much made of skin-protecting ingredients such as Ceramide, Centella Asiatica, Panthenol and more. It also contains Niacinamide and, of course, Hyaluronic Acid. The ingredient list looks so promising with no irritating ingredients and is full of skin-loving ingredients.
Packaging
It comes in a fully covered plastic tube with a screw cap and a small snout. The design is simple, and the tube functions well. The labels are in Korean and English. I have no complaints about the packaging, but I would really appreciate it if it was a flip cap instead.
Update May 2022: The packaging design has changed recently from blue to purple. However, I still got the old packaging so I don't have much to say on this.
Texture
The texture isn't watery; it doesn't drip at all; however, it does make sense if it's a watery 'gel'. It has a lightweight gel-like cream texture, it's more like a lotion, and it quickly absorbs into the skin than other sunscreens. I'm impressed! You'll be seeing a white cast during the application, but it's all gone in a few seconds after it's completely rubbed in. It gives a dewy finish to the skin.
Update May 2022: The texture remains the same, I have nothing to add on.
Scent-Wise
It doesn't have fragrance, but it does have a slight scent. During application, the scent is noticeable, but it fades away quickly too.
Experience
I've been using this for a couple of days already, and so far, I have not experienced any irritation or bad reactions. I love that it has a high SPF and that it absorbs quickly into the skin, making it the perfect sunscreen for rushed mornings. It is also easy to rinse off and good for reapplication too. I did not experience any breakouts, and it doesn't sting my eyes either. The best of all is that it's not sticky.
However, it tends to make my combination skin way too shiny after a while. It doesn't really look pleasing to me, and if I sweat, my skin feels greasy. So it isn't a good option for me to use it when I'm working out as it isn't waterproof. Another thing I noticed is that it doesn't feel as hydrating as it claims; I just feel oiliness after a while.
Update May 2022: When I first tried this sunscreen, I kinda felt that it wasn't hydrating enough, but after a month, I could say this has been my go to sunscreen everytime. I've been using it everyday until I finished my first tube. It seems that I didn't give this sunscreen enough time because I certainly was sad when I finished my first tube.
Now this time, I'm trying my second tube after a while and I can say I'm still putting this sunscreen on top of one of my most favourites. I don't feel it super hydrating but it doesn't dry my skin either. What I love the most is that this Isntree Sun Gel has high absorbency rate and does not create any white cast. I normally use it for reapplication because I'm less active during the mid-day, so I don't sweat much. However, I would not use this for outdoor activities because my skin tends to get a bit greasy with this when I sweat.
Overall Thoughts
It's a decent sunscreen for me; I like using it as I start my day because I usually chase time, and this Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel from Isntree is super quick to apply. However, it isn't my choice of sunscreen for reapplication as my skin doesn't go well with it when I tend to sweat. I can say I could finish up this tube within 2 months as 50ml is quite small. I probably won't be repurchasing this again, but I'll definitely be finishing this tube.
Update May 2022: Changed my mine after I finished my first tube that I had to get another one. This is my go to sunscreen for reapplication and I love how to just absorbs into the skin without feeling sticky or greasy at all. It's a quick option and it does not dry out my skin. As long as I'm using it indoors Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel is a great option for me. I highly recommend this.
