REVIEW MAMONDE CERAMIDE SKIN SOFTENER HIBISCUS

Mamonde Ceramide Skin Softener Review

Mamonde's Ceramide Hibiscus range has been in the market for years now and it's still one of its bestselling ranges. I've happened to use it's light cream before but I only did a sharing on the product instead of a review back then, you can read it here: MAMONDE MOISTURE CERAMIDE LIGHT CREAM. Well this time around, I've been using the whole range for about a month now so I'll be doing detailed reviews on my thoughts about this range. I've been eager to try the whole set ever since I finished my first tub of the light cream and it surely did leave a mark in my skincare journal. Now since I've been using the whole set, I feel like I could elaborate my thoughts better on this range and show you the results using them. Take note that I've been using Mamonde's Ceramide range as my morning routine as I felt like this range was a pretty could combination with my current night routine. Now let's get to the first review for this range. I'll be linking other products in this range in this post too, so stay tuned.

Before we go in detail for the product, let's get to know a bit about Ceramide and what it promotes. Ceramides are lipids that naturally occur in the skin. It's purposed to help the skin barrier and protect the skin from environmental stress. I've created a post to explain a bit more on Ceramide, which you can read here: WHAT IS CERAMIDE IN SKIN CARE & WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT IT?

While the Hibiscus flower in skincare has a reputation to increase moisture and lock it within the skin. It's also known as a natural source of AHA's which purposes to exfoliate and control oil.

Now you know a bit on the core ingredient of the product, you'll be able to relate a bit with this post.

What is Mamonde's Ceramide Skin Softener?

Momonde claims it as an ultra-moisturizing skin softener that strengthens the weakened skin moisture barrier and provides impeccable moisturizing effects. For me, honestly, I'm confused. I don't know if I should treat this as a toner since it's the first step of the range but it's not that watery as most toners are. I guess what's important is if either this product works or not.

How to use Mamonde's Ceramide Skin Softener?

This product is the first step of the range. After cleansing the face and pat dry, use this afterward. How I use it is by pouring a generous amount on the palms of my hands and then patt the softener into the skin with my palms. You can use a cotton pad if you want to but to me it's better to patt the softener in as it's consistency is rather thick.

My Review on Mamonde Ceramide Skin Softener

This product has been in the market for some years and has gone through multiple times of upgraded packaging, I'm not sure if they upgraded the formula too but what I have is the latest version so I'll be speaking my thoughts on this. To be honest, I'm still confused about either this softener is a toner or not because this range doesn't have a toner. Its first step is this softener which is thick in consistency, unlike toners. I may have said is as a lotion but they have an emulsion for this range which I think it's consistency is like lotion. Goshh... The more I go into skincare the more confusing it gets sometimes.

What I know is their main ingredient is Ceramide which functions to protect the skin barrier and something that I really need right now. I've been eager to try out this range for quite some time already as I've recovered my acne problem, so I need my skin barrier strong and hydrated. Mamonde's Ceramide range is supposed to help achieve that goal.

Packaging

Ceramide is not a stable ingredient, hence exposure of air and light to the product would cause it to be less effective. Mamonde ceramide skin softener comes in a light opaque bottle which is good enough but I still try my best to avoid it from any sun exposure. Its lid is twistable and air-tight if closed properly. It has pretty good packaging but I quite don't like it as it's bulky and it's hard. The product flows out easily but I feel it'll be hard to come out once it comes to the last few usages. So there might be a wastage of products.

Texture

As mentioned above, I can't really tell if this is a toner, a lotion, or even milk. It's the first step for the range so I'm thinking it's pretty much within the group. Its texture is rather thicker but it's still watery, it's almost like a very light gel.

Scent-Wise

The ceramide skin softener has the strongest scent within all products from its range. It kinda worries me too as this may be an artificial fragrance. The scent is strong but it's quite nice though.

Reaction

I haven't experienced any irritations or redness while using this. So far it does create a nice smooth and supple reaction to the skin instantly after application.

Overall Thoughts

Honestly, from all the products within this range, I feel like this has to be the least needed product. Even if you don't use the skin softener, it won't give much effect. I kinda like to start my routine with Mamonde's CHAMOMILE PURE TONER first before I proceed with the ceramide skin softener. I feel like the pure toner preps the skin better for hydration. Probably the driving point of me using the skin softener is because its scent is nice. LOL...

Till then peeps!
