If you are looking for an excellent place to meet up with a couple of your close friends, probably a date night out or maybe you just want to try out something different, I suggest you Marco's Creative Cuisine located in 1 Utama. The ambience of the restaurant itself will make you feel this is the right place to meet up as soon as you walk in. If you're with friends, you'll surely be thinking of all the beautiful shots you could take together, and if you're with a date, (either new or old 😏) you'll surely have a lot to talk about with a nice surrounding to support you. Wonder why? Keep on reading.
Marco's Creative Cuisine recently launched their 7-course meal which is only RM78 nett. Yes, you read it right, only RM78 nett! Surely this will be a great treat for your friends who have never experienced fine-dining before. No need to pull out a fortune to impress your friends, the surrounding already has the luxury feel just like a five-star hotel.
The restaurant has two separate sections which at the back of the place seems to be more private and ideal if you're thinking to spend several hours for a catching-up session. You'll find picture ready spots as soon as you walk in which is what most of us look for right? Make sure be wise in the selections of your seats, once you've ordered you're unable to change your place anymore.
Marco Creative Cuisine is owned and run by power couple Chef Daren Leong and wife, manager Alice which both welcomed our team warmly and gave an introduction to their restaurant. Ohh.. I forgot to mention that I went here with my colleagues for lunch and team bonding to celebrate Bo's birthday. It was certainly the right choice to have a birthday lunch here.
The first thing that caught our attention was, of course, the live jellyfish display at the front of the restaurant. It does not only seem to attract the customers there but the passers-by too. Who could not be drawn to the glass aquarium if you see moving creatures changing colours by the minute? We could see almost everyone who stopped, including us, took a picture from different angles. It just looks mesmerising and not every day you get to see something like this in a shopping mall.
Anyway, let's start talking about the food here. As I mentioned earlier, Marco recently launched their 7-course meal which they refer to as 'Journey of Flavours". It comes with a palate cleanser, appetiser, soup, entree, main, dessert and drink which you could choose from several selections except for the palate cleanser and the appetiser.
Starting of with the Palate Cleanser: Velvety Matcha-Lime Shooter
This small cup of freshness will surely surprise your taste buds. When I had my sip, I was shocked. What I imagined it to be turned out to be much better. The lime shooter tasted almost similar to lemon sorbet, and it was magnificent. You can feel that it totally helps in cleansing your mouth which prepares you for the full-course journey coming up.
Moving on to soups, there are three choices to choose from, and we managed to taste all three. The Strawberry Gazpacho was chilled cold soup of strawberries. It's garnished with dehydrated strawberries, capsicum and microgreens. Again another new exciting experience for me since I have never had a soup meant to be served cold and of course 'Strawberry soup' itself. This soup was ordered by Sydney, so I got to taste a few spoons.
I had the Truffled Mushroom Soup a plant-based creamy mushroom soup infused with truffle oil. Indeed it was creamy. From all the mushroom soups I've before, this soup seems to have that original mushroom taste which is something that I'm not familiar with too. It was so good that I finished mine so fast.
Eros was the only one who ordered French Onion Soup. This soup has caramelised onions with a layer of gratinéed gruyere and french toast. At first, I thought I would have this, but reading the word caramelised on the menu I changed my mind, I didn't want something sweet to start my meal. But when it came, I kinda regretted it. LOL... The chef said the onions are caramelised for an overnight, (I think) but the process making it was a hassle. That was what came to my mind when he told us how it was made, but I can't remember the details. Forgive me. :(
The house also surprised Bo with a mini birthday cake! Bo looked very happy, and we also got excited because another dessert was added to the table. LOL... (The cake was so good btw.)
So that's pretty much it, the experience dining here in Marco Creative Cuisine has surely been a journey of flavours and I could say we all enjoyed our lunch there. I will surely come again with my husband and family.
